Ganesh Chaturthi is the widely celebrated religious festival in India to mark the birthday of Lord Ganesha. Lord Ganesha Idols are placed in many homes and pandals for worship; modaka is a popular bhog prepared in homes as it is believed to be a favourite of Lord Ganesha.

It is an India dessert looks alike dumpling in which grated coconut mixed with jaggery is outer coated with rice or wheat or maida flour and then finally steamed or cooked. For more flavours, elaichi powder can be used.

Boondi Ladoo/ Boondi Laddu


First, you have to prepare batter for making boondi which is made from 1and a half cup besan mixed with 1 cup water. Make sure that the batter is smooth so you can add more water to it if required. Check consistency by frying it in oil, if it comes round in shape then your batter is perfect but if it apper flat then add water to batter to make it smooth. Boondi should not be crispy otherwise they will not able to absorb sugar syrup, so don't over fry them.
After this drop the boondi into hot sugar syrup and add 1 tbsp ghee to it, mix them well and shape it in laddu form.

Motichoor Ladoo / Motichoor Laddu



The procedure of making matichoor laddu is same as boondi laddu. Only orange food colour and milk are used in the batter and syrup and for more taste cardamom powder, chopped almonds are added to it.


Sooji Halva




It is a classic India dessert prepared during pooja or any religious ceremony. In this recipe, roasted sooji is added to sugar syrup but for flavours cardamom, ghee roasted cashews, raisins.
